How I Style: The Tropical Midi Skirt #1

Hi everyone,

The item I'm styling this week is the Tropical Midi Skirt. It doesn't have to be a tropical print, any colourful pattern will do, I just happen to love this print!

The way I've styled this Midi Skirt today is as part of a Co-Ord. I do love a good Co-Ord. A I've said before, they are so easy to style as the print makes the statement.

I kept the accessories simple, picking out the pale blue from the print and matching my shoes to it.  l also decided to go for a brighter pink lip as I'd wear this outfit for a night out.

The Spring Edit: Shoes

So, here it is, the last in my 'Spring Series'. This time I'm chatting shoes. I love shoes. I'm borderline obsessed with ankle boots. I normally find one or two great pairs each season and wear them to death.

Here's the shoes that I'll be wearing out this Spring...

Monday Wishlist #11

1. New Look Palm Leaf Print Peplum Top: I may have already ordered this top. ooops. This top caught my eye at work last week, and I tried it on when I finshed work. It has a gorgeous cut out in the back which is in the perfect place, not too low to show your bra strap. I'm obsessed with monochrome right now, if you couldn't tell, and this top would fit perfectly into my monochromatic wardrobe right now.

2. River Island Grey Marl Smock Top: I'm always on the hunt for good basics with a twist. The gathered detail on the sides make this smock top a little more interesting, although I'd have to try this top on as I'm not sure if this shape would be flattering on my figure. I can see it looking fab with a pair of black skinnies with rips in the knees and some black sandals. Perfect.

3. Topshop Sports Trim Vest: Another basic with a twist. A crisp white vest looks effortlessly cool. If you wanted to play on the sporty feel of this vest, pair it with a pair of tailored joggers.  Sports luxe at it's best.

4. Topshop HEARTBREAKER 2Part Heel Sandals: I'm pretty sure I've already had a pair of these Topshop sandals in a Monday Wishlist before, but when I saw this gold pair I let out an audible oooooohhhhhh. They are soooo pretty. How glam would they look with a flowy maxi dress on holiday? I can imagine wearing them with denim shorts and a printed vest top, too.

What I Wore This Week (What I Wore This Week) #28

Hey everyone,

What a weird week in weather we've had! Some days were absolutely gorgeous, summer-like, and other days felt like we were back in winter. Luckily, on the days I had to leave the house the weather was fairly nice.

Sunday was quite a nice day, so I decided to wear a skirt. I love this time of year when I don't have to wear tights any more. As it's still a little chilly I wore a lightweight jumper. It's not quite warm enough to be going out in vest tops just yet!

The Body Shop Blueberry Range // My Thoughts

When ever The Body Shop bring out a new scent collection, the collector in me forces me (yes, forces me) to go out and buy everything in the collection. OK maybe bot everything in the collection, but the Shower Gel, Body Scrub and Body Butter for sure. When I saw this Blueberry collection, I had to have it. I used to love a blueberry scented body butter from Soap & Glory, but they don't make it any more.

1 Dress 5 Ways: The Striped Tunic Dress

If you have a striped tunic dress, like mine, why not try out some of these ways to wear it. Sometimes wearing the same dress on multiple occasions may become boring. If you take some of my tips and apply them to your dress, that's four more outfits!

How I Style: Matching Monochrome #2

Hi everyone,

Here is my second Matching Monochrome outfit this week. Yesterday was stripes, today it's polka dots!

I've had this polka dot crop top for a year or so now, and when I bought these shorts and brought them home, I realised them make a nice little set. Not quite a co‐ord, as they are not a perfect match, but close enough!

You can see that the print on the shorts is slightly smaller than the top, but I like the slight difference. It's almost a pattern clash and almost a co‐ord, somewhere in between!

I've styled this outfit for a night out with red heels here, but I'd also wear it on holiday with a pair of simple black sandals for a casual evening look.

How I Style: Matching Monochrome #1

Is Monochrome getting a little boring? I don't think so! Some people only ever wear black, I could never do that. I need colour and print in my wardrobe. Although, I am loving monochrome right now, it just looks so classy, and a bright red lip looks amazing with monochrome.

This first Monochrome outfit is a co‐ord, everyone's loving them right now, including me. What's not to love? A statement outfit that takes basically no thought. Just pick the print you want, grab the top and bottom and away you go.

Obviously I went for monochrome stripes today. I love me a fitted midi skirt, they're so flattering on my body shape. The cut out shape of the crop top is also very flattering across the shoulders. A pair of black heels keep it simple, and a red lip peps it up.

Schwarzkopf Essence ULTIME Omega Repair Shampoo & Conditioner

I kept on seeing this advertised on TV and thought I'd give it a go, as we all know I'm a sucker for a new shampoo & conditioner! If you haven't seen said advert, this range by Schwarzkopf was developed with Claudia Schiffer, hence her being the face of the brand.

Monday Wishlist #10

1. River Island Yellow Wrap Crop Top: I said it a million times already, but I just love this colour! I also love wearing crop tops on nights, with high waisted skirts to cover the belly, of course! This wrap over shape will be flattering, and perfect for summer nights out. Even better if you're off on holiday somewhere soon.

2. Miss Selfridge Salt & Pepper 90's Dress: This racerback shape neckline is so flattering and sexy, without showing much skin at all. This dress would look just as good with a pair of Converse as it would with a pair of sleek black heeled sandals.

3. Topshop Striped Leather Purse: I am absolutely desperate for a new purse. Mine is literally falling apart and I don't know how much longer it's going to last before my money ends up loose in the bottom of my handbag! I've been looking for a new purse to replace it. I don't want an all black purse, as I loose it in my handbag, but I don't want a light coloured one, as it will get dirty super quickly. This monochrome purse is perfect, as we all know I love a bit of monochrome. This is more of a need than a want, I can feel a purchase coming on!

4. River Island Snake Print Cleated Sole Sandals: Chunky shoes are so popular right now. If you haven't got a pair, get some. This pair caught my eye because of the bright print. Wear with an all black outfit now, or with denim shorts and a bright vest top when the weather permits!

WIWTW (What I Wore This Week) #27

Hey everyone,

I've been slacking on the outfit photography this week, and blogging in general! I've been super busy, but I'm back on it this week!

This outfit is actually from my Birthday, last Sunday night. I went out for a few drinks with some friends from work.

As it was a Sunday I didn't dress up too much, opting for a jeans and top combo, dressing it up with red heels and lips.

How I Style: MOM Shorts #2

If you saw yesterday's post, you'll have seen that I styled my MOM shorts with a grungy look. Today, I've gone for a more summer/beachy look.

This jumper is perfect for spring & summer, as it's brights and lightweight, but still keeps the chill out.

A pair of white trainers give a cool, relaxed feel to the outfit. Like you haven't made much effort, but still look cool. On really warm days sway the trainers for flip flops!

How I Style: MOM Shorts #1

I love how denim shorts look in the summer, but most of the time when I try on a pair of denim shorts, they're just not flattering on me at all. Normally they are far too short for my liking. I don't want to walk around with my bum cheeks hanging out ha.

That's where the 'MOM' shorts come in. Similar to the MOM jean, they are a high-waisted fit, and are slightly longer than a regular pair of denim shorts. I picked this pair as I really like the distressed denim look.

Today I've styled them in quite a grungy way, with a grey tee and black ankle boots. I love wearing this thick black belt with this look as it pulls it all together.

I love this look, Id wear it at the weekend, or for going to a concert.

Easter Nails ‐ Models Own Speckled Eggs Nail Polish

Monday Wishlist #9

1. New Look Denim Tunic Dress: I really like the acid wash and the tunic shape of this dress. You could easily add a belt to it if you wanted to draw more attention to your waist. I'd wear it with tights and a pair of ankle boots now, and then on warmer days I'd throw it on with a pair flip flops. Pairing it with a denim jacket would check off the double denim trend.

2. River Island Abstract Print Waterfall Jacket: I don't know what it is, but I always fall for these types of jackets which have contrasting sleeves. I love me some a statement jacket! I also really like the longer length of this jacket, much chicer than a cropped jacket, and more flattering on my body shape.

3. Topshop Girl Lace Hem Tee: Slogan tees are everywhere on the High Street right now, but a lot of the slogans are too tacky/cheesey for me. I like that this tee just says 'girl'. Simple. The lace hem makes the tee a little more feminine and interesting.

4. Topshop Butterfly Fabric Headband: Another obsession of mine, insects! This headband will look so cute in the summer with curly hair and a pretty floral dress.

WIWTW (What I Wore This Week) #26

Hey everyone,

It's my Birthday today! 27, yikes! I really can't believe I'm 27 already, and that I graduated from uni almost a year ago. Times really does go much faster as you get older!

On Tuesday it was a fairly nice day, so I decided to wear my new body from New Look for work, as it gets super hot. I threw over my cardigan as it can get chilly sometimes, too. I love how my brow belt looks with the print on the body.

The Spring Edit: Nails (All Essie)

Hey everyone,

Here is the second part of my Spring Edit series. Today I'm chatting about which colours I'll be painting on my nails this season. Like the Lip Edit, where all the colours were MAC, all of these nail polishes are Essie. This was unintentional, but it really shows which are my favourite brands!

How I Style: Spring Florals #2

We all know I'm partial to a bit of pattern clashing. Stripes and florals are two of my favourites prints to wear together.

But where's the Spring Florals, you may ask? Well, they're on my feet! Wearing floral accessories look just as good as having them plastered all over your dress. I found my gorgeous new spring shoes in New Look last week. I love how they have a floral print to the front, but a stripe print on the back. They would pep up a plain black outfit, or pair them with stripes, as I have.

I'm going to get loads of wear from these shoes throughout the spring and summer. They're going to look so nice with denim shorts and a plain white tee, as well as summer dresses.

How I Style: Spring Florals #1

Florals are always associated with spring, Always have been, always will be. It's the bright colours that drew me to floral prints, and this dress is no exception.

It has a gorgeous blurred print, bursting with pinks, blues and corals. I decided to pick out the coral shade from the dress and added my Topshop bag that I haven't worn in ages. I grabbed my flat shoes which have a corally colour to them, too.

This dress would looka mazing with a pair of nude heels, for a night out, too!

Monday Wishlist #8

1. New Look Red Tribal Dress: Can you tell I'm really into tribal & folksy prints this week?! I have this same dress, but in a different print, and I think they both will be perfect for summer. If you're heading to a festival this summer, this dress, a pair of sandals and a fedora = perfection!

2. River Island Mixed Tribal Cami: I love the look of denim shorts and a vest top for warm summer days, but I'm not really into basic vest tops. That's where this little number comes in. A peplum shape and a bit of print clashing makes it anything but basic. A great vest top to pack for your summer hols.

3. New Look Stone Suede Chelsea Boots: My love for ankle boots has been well documented. I've always got my eyes open for a perfect pair of summer ankle boots. I see girls rocking denim shorts and boots, and I just think wow I wish I could pull that look off. My problem is that I'm short, and ankle boots in dark shades cut me off. In order to pull the look off, I need a pair of boots that are very similar to my skin tone. It works just like a pair of nude heels, elongating your legs. This pair are the closest to being perfect I've ever seen. I need them.

4. Topshop Tile Print Clutch: A monochrome clutch is a great addition to anyone's wardrobe. Wear it when you're wearing a bright outfit but don't want to go overboard on accessories, or with a an all black outfit for a bit of interest. I'd wear this with an LBD, or with a pair of boyfriend fit jeans, a white vest top and some black sandals for a super casual look.

WIWTW (What I Wore This WEEK) #25

Hey everyone,

I was feeling rather springy on Tuesday, even though the weather was utterly rubbish, and still is! I could of actually done with wearing sandals for work rather than a pair of boots, but it was raining when I left the house. Maybe next week I'll put a pair of sandals in my bag to change into!

How I Style: The Co‐Ord #2

Hi everyone,

Today I have chosen a more casual look for my Co-Ord. Generally, when I think of matching suits, I think of more formal occasions, but I personally like to wear my clothes whenever I feel like it. On that note,  here's how I've styled mine for a casual day, shopping or meeting with friends.

The grey tee and black ankle boots are what transform this Co‐Ord from formal to casual, night to day. The t‐shirt works with the grey tones in the print of the blazer and shorts, while the black ankle boots correspond with the black lapels and trim on the Co‐Ord.

How I Style: The Co‐Ord #1

The Co-Ord. The biggest trend this season. Whether you choose a blazer and shorts/skirt combo, or crop top and skirt combo, get a co-ord into your wardobe quick!

My Co-Ord is from ASOS. I love the slightly oversized fit of the jacket, and the gorgeous print. It has a touch of neon green in the pattern, another big trend this season.

Today I've styled my Co-Ord for a night out. The Blazer and shorts combo make a statement in themeselves, so it's simply to put together a stand-out outfit. I added a black cami, as the both the blazer and shorts have a black trim, and a pair of black neon green shoes to pull the look together.

A smokey eye and nude lip are the perfect night out make-up combo for this statement trend.

MAC Dreaming Dahlia // My Thoughts

I'm obsessed with MAC lipsticks. Whenever a new MAC collection hits stores it's always the lipstick offerings I check out first. When the 'A Fantasy of Flowers' collection came out last month, I couldn't resist picking up MAC Dreaming Dahlia Lipstick . It is a lovely bright coral colour. As this lipstick has a lustre finish, it can be worn fairly sheer, or built up to a fairly opaque colour with a few extra swipes of the lipstick.
