How I Style: The Full Skirt #2

This is my favourite of the two 'How I Style' posts this week - I just love all the colours together.

Tan sandals go with almost anything - and my bag is just the right shade of red to pull the look together.

My top is cropped, but just enough to show a little skin!

How I Style: The Full Skirt #1

On Monday I decided to give outdoor photography a go. I picked the wrong time of day, as the sun was far too  harsh, but I really like the outcome of my photographs! I'm going to start taking my outfit photographs outside as much as I can now. What do you think? Do you prefer these outdoor snaps?

Back to the outfit. You may have already seen this skirt in my last post, and in an Instagram post, too. As I explained in my last post, it's actually a smock dress which have poppers along the waistline so you can wear it both as a dress and as a crop top and skirt  combo. I love the bug print on this skirt so much, it's quickly become one of my favourite skirts!

In this outfit I decided to have a play with prints and clashed the bug print with a striped tee. The tee also has embroidered daises all over, which adds another feminine edge.

Top 3 MAC Red Lipsticks

Red lipstick is a classic right? I remember when the only lipsticks I owned were one nudey colour and red. That was it. Hard to believe right? A million lipsticks later, and I have three reds that are my staple, go to's fo when I want a classic red lip.

All of these lipsticks are from MAC, because they do a red lippie the best, in my opinion anyway...

Monday Wishlist #23

Monday Wishlist

1. River Island Abstract Check Waterfall Jacket: I don't know why, but I have a thing for jackets. I have quite a collection already, but there's always room for a few more, right? I love the abstract check print, and the flash of yellow. A great jacket to throw over jeans and a tee to liven up your outfit.

2. Topshop Petite Wrap Jersey Playsuit: This grey jersey playsuit would be a great wardrobe staple. Wear now with some sandals, or with opaque tights, boots and a leather jacket in the autumn.

3. River Island Black Croc Zip Front Platform Shoes: These shoes are absolute beauties! I love how they are a cut out boot/sandal hybrid. The chunky heel and platform means they will be fairly comfortable, too. Need them in my life!

4. New Look Black Ribbed Trim Sleeveless Dress: I like the idea of sports luxe, but don't really come across much sporty clothing that I actually like. This dress would be great to wear with a pair of white converse for a relaxed weekend look, and then simply sway out your converse for a pair of high heels and there's your Saturday night outfit sorted.

WIWTW (What I Wore This Week) #40

On Monday I fancied wearing my tan fedora, although I didn't end up wearing it out of the house. For some reason it just doesn't sit right on me. I think my hair needs to be longer to pull it off. We'll see in a few months! I kept the rest of my outfit simple with a textured vest top, my ripped boyfriend jeans and a pair of tan sandals. The perfect casual summer outfit.

MAC Makeover & Haul // My experience

Way back in April my lovely boyfriend bought me a voucher to get my make-up done at MAC. If you don’t know how this works, you buy a voucher for £30, book an appointment to get your make-up done, then on the day of your appointment your voucher is redeemable against any products you buy. Basically you have £30 to spend at MAC and you get your make-up done. Score!

How I Style: The Midi Dress #2

Rather than giving you a boring 'dressed up' version of this outfit, with a pair of heels, I thought I'd give it a bit of a biker feel. This is an outfit I'd probably wear if I was going out for a meal, or even just meeting one of my friends for a few drinks.

This biker gilet used to be a jacket. It had knitted sleeves, which over time got a bit bobbly, so I cut them off!

A pair of cut out ankle are my go to shoes of choice to wear with a dress when I don't want to go with a pair of classic heels, although a black pointy toed stiletto would look amazing with this dress.

How I Style: The Midi Dress #1

Hi everyone,

This week I'm styling another item of clothing I was kindly sent from justfor5pounds. If you missed the first item I styled from this brand (a lovely mac) you can catch those posts here and here . This around I picked out this gorgeous midi dress. I chose my regular size, a 10, and before it arrived I was a little worried that I maybe should have chosen a size 12 in case it was smaller fitting. When it arrived my worries dissipated as it fit like a glove. I think I'd go as far as saying this is the nicest midi dress I've ever worn/tried on. Considering this dress only costs £5, I was very pleasantly surprised.

Today I've styled this dress in a very casual way. My New Look boat-style shoes have an Aztec print, but they also have a burgundy colour in the print, the same as the dress. Mixing the two different prints of the dress and the shoes gives a young, fun look to what could easily be a more formal dress.

Monday Wishlist #22

1. River Island Black Floral Print V Neck Wrap Jumpsuit: Everything is a little autumnal in this week's wishlist. I guess the new trends are hitting the high street, bringing autumn colours with them. This jumpsuit has a gorgeous oriental print on it. To make it work now, I'd pick out one of the brighter colours from the print and add a shoe or bag in that colour, along with a matte orange lip. Keeping everything black will transition this jumpsuit into autumn.

2. River Island Grey Marl Rib Fitted Crop Top: I don't know why, but I really love grey marl. I'd buy this in a size or two bigger, so it was a little loose on the waist and more flattering. A pair of black MOM jeans, with rips at the knees, and black ankle boots, would look perfect with this top.

3. Topshop Twisted Leather Clutch: I adore the colour of this clutch, the rich burgundy is gorgeous. It would look perfect with the jumpsuit, or with any other items of your autumn and winter wardrobe. I like this size bag for both nights out and for days when I don't need to carry much around with me.

WIWTW (What I Wore This Week) #39

Two super casual outfits this week. I haven't been feeling my best, nothing serious just a bit blah if you what I mean. Hopefully back to normal next week!

On Monday I wore my palm tree print trousers. They may look quite formal, but they're very stretchy, therefore super comfortable. I threw on a tshirt, a pair of sandals and that was my outfit.

Benefit They're Real Push Up Liner // My Thoughts

If you read beauty blogs on a regular basis, there’s no way you could have missed this new released. Dubbed the ‘eyeliner for girls who can’t do eyeliner’ I had to give it a go for myself.

MAC Moody Bloom Collection // Sheen Supreme Lipstick in Moody Bloom

Let's be real. This collection caught my attention as it is has my name in the title. Bloom. I just had to have something from this collection. It just happens that the Sheen Supreme Lipstick in Moody Bloom was just the right kind of colour I like at the moment, so I snapped it up. It is sold out on the MAC website, but both of my local MAC counters still had it in stock, along with most of the rest of the collection, but you can it from the Debenhams website here if you prefer to shop online.

MAC describes this colour as a 'bronze plum' and I'd agree with that description. The bronze tone comes in the form of micro simmer, which gives it a bit of a frosty metallic look. I'm normally one for frosty or metallic lip colours, but I think this could be a great everyday lip colour for me. The Sheen Supreme formula means that it is easy to swipe on in a hurry and reapply on the go, too.

It does have the brown 90's lipstick vibe to it, without it looking like you're going to a fancy dress concert. I'm trying to get my hands on MAC's lip liner in Whirl to wear underneath, to give a little more pink to the colour but it's sold out everywhere at the moment. Thanks Kylie Jenner.

How I Style: The Sleeveless Blazer #2

This outfit is a little more on the casual end of the scale, not that yesterday's outfit was super formal. I love the look of blazers thrown over denim shorts and a tshirt. It's such a relaxed look but the blazer adds a chic touch to the outfit.

A pair of ankle boots and a red lip give it a rocky edge.

How I Style: The Sleeveless Blazer #1

I've been on the hunt for a great sleeveless blazer for literally years. Last I nearly bought one in the New Look sale, I don't know why I didn't to be honest! So when I saw this beauty in Primark, I HAD to have it, no question about it. Although you can't see in these photographs, this sleeveless blazer actually has a sheer chiffon back, which makes it a little more interesting.

It's such a great piece to throw on over so many different outfits. Today I've worn mine over a white embellished vest and a pair of ripped up skinny jeans. The sleeveless blazer adds a more chic look to an otherwise super casual outfit.

Smashbox V Sleek // Brow Stylo

You may have noticed I'm onto a bit of a 'brow thing' at the moment. I've been using the Sleek Brow Stylist for around three months, but decided to give something new ago when that ran out. I'd heard good things about the Smashbox Brow Tech To Go, so decided to give it a go when the Sleek Brow Stylist ran out last week. I also repurchased the Sleek Brow Stylist so that I could compare the two, and also just so that I had a back up eye product.

Monday Wishlist #21

1. Sister Jane Stripe Mini Dress: I don't think I really need to say much about why I love this dress, do I? It has lime in the print, and it is stripes. Two of my favourite things in one dress! It's such a nice summery dress, but I'd also wear this dress with tights and black ankle boots in the winter.

2. New Look Black Tribal Embroidered Panel Tassel Hem Bag: As you know, I work for New Look. I saw this bag in-store and thought it would be the perfect holiday/festival bag. I love the embroidered pattern and the fringe detail. Even though this bag is quite a statement in itself, I'd still just wear it with any holiday or festival outfit. Throwing this bag in with other printed clothing will add to that care free holiday or festival vibe.

3. Miss Selfridge Camilla High Sandal: White shoes are everywhere right now, but this pair are a little different. the contrasting black heel and silver details on the front strap make them a bit more interesting than all white shoes. Imagine these shoes, with the dress above and my black Rebecca Minkoff Mini Mac handbag. Perfect summer evening outfit.

4. New Look White Tropical Print Hem Cami: This cami vest will look perfect with a pair of denim shorts and some cute sandals in the summer months. The loose peplum shape is so flattering, I already have a couple of tops that have the same shape as this and I love them.

WIWTW (What I Wore This Week) #38

How I Style: Summer Monochrome #2

Monochrome is such an easy look to pull together. A pair of black jeans and a white top and you've got the look. I decided to add my white shoes to keep to the mono look.

For something a little more interesting, the top I pocked is fairly sheer and has an opaque aztec print on it. If you felt like adding a little colour to the look, you could always add a brightly coloured bra or bandeau under a sheer top like this. I decided to go for a white crop top underneath.

How I Style: Summer Monochrome #1

Even though the sun is out and bright colours are everywhere, I'm loving monochrome. So this week I decided to styled monochrome for summer.

I saw this dress in someone's haul video, I can't remember whose now, but when I saw it I knew I had to have it! I love the large chevron print. The shape is super comfortable and flattering, too.

Keeping to the monochrome theme, I added my Sol Sana sandals, as they have a monochrome heel. The two different prints, on the dress and sandals, give this simple dress and sandals outfit an interesting twist.
