L'Oreal Smartbond: Is It Worth It?

L'oreal Smartbond is a unique system that protects and strengthens hair during colouring and bleaching. The system consists of three components, the first two being used in the salon and the third at home. As I have my hair highlighted regularly (well, fairly regularly - those roots in the before image tell a different story!) I thought I'd have the L'oreal Smartbond treated added to my colour. Do I think it was worth it...?

I have my hair cut and coloured at Jenz Hair Salon in Shilbottle, North East England, by Danielle. I've been going there for years and was perfectly happy with how my colour was, but my hair was feeling a little dry and I'd heard that Smartbond helps to protect your hair and promoted shine in blonde hair.
The two components are done in the salon - one added to the clour/bleach and one as a conditioning treatment afterward - so no effort required at all. To have the L'oreal Smartbond treatment it added £10 to the cost of my overall treatment. The third component comes in the form of a conditioning treatment which is to be used at home once a week. I ordered mine from Amazon. I'm not too keen on the scent, it 's a little too floral for my taste, but I can get over that.
After using the at-home treatment a few times I can honestly say that I can see a difference in my hair. As soon as I rinse the treatment off my hair feels super soft and tangle-free, and once I've blow-dried and styled it's shiny. SHINY! If you have blonde hair you'll know how hard it is to get any kind of shine without using an oil or a shine spray. I couldn't believe it.
So, do I think the L'oreal Smartbond system is worth it? Yes, I do! If you have blonde hair, or you get your hair coloured quite a lot, I'd highly recommend it. I don't think I'll be able to go back to not having this system with my colour now, and I'll be re-purchasing the at-home treatment when I need to.
