Tone on Tone | Pink For Spring

I may be wearing lots of red right now - I talked about my favourite colour here - but pink won't be disappearing from my wardrobe anytime soon. In fact, I've started wearing it tone on tone.

My new favourite bag for spring just so happens to be in this gorgeous dusty pink shade. It's perfect - not a bright Barbie pink, but not too light, either. The patent texture stands out from my plisse wrap top in the same shade, too.

Contrasting textures is the way to go if you want to make a tone on tone look work. Perhaps a pleated midi skirt with a cotton t-shirt tucked in, or a satin wrap dress with a pair of suede heels.

For a tone on tone look, the colours don't need to be exactly the same, either. Lighter or darker shades of the same colour look best. I've done that with my heels. They still have the soft pink tone to them but are so light that they almost look cream. Although you can't really tell in these images, my nails are also the same dusky pink. I see this shade as a neutral, so it goes with basically any other colour I wear.

Are there any colours you like to wear tone on tone? I think in the summer, with a tan, neutral/nude tones look fab together.
